Mobile County Parks Fun Facts...

The land was settled in 1891 by Andrew and Julia Jackson, formerly enslaved people who built a homestead that became part of Creola’s early history.

The park is named after their great-granddaughter, who sold the property to Mobile County to ensure its history was preserved for the community.

Gunnison Creek watershed is part of one of the most diverse ecosystems in the U.S., the Mobile-Tensaw Delta.
